For us, two amazing concerts in one day.
- The first, in the morning California time, via HBO, the inauguration concert described above. You would have loved it. Bettye LaVette was stunning. Most performers were singing with others with whom they don’t traditionally partner, or outside their traditional genre. (Sheryl Crowe and Will.I.Am come to mind). If I can conquer the technology, I’ll send a DVD.
- The second, the incomparable Willie (thank you thank you). I know we were supposed to go Friday night, but I tried to get two more tickets for friends, and the show was sold out, so traded them in for four tickets for Sunday. then the friends got sick, so Kathy and John went with us. He was spectacular. Check your email (soon) for a picture (again, if I can learn how to transfer the picture from my phone!
Wishing you safe and trouble-free travels and a break from the heat. You can always come back here – It’s about 20 degrees C and sunshine!
Talking stones.
Ook tante Lenie heeft stones, nierstenen wel te verstaan en is hiervoor opgenomen in het ziekenhuis met nierbekkenontsteking. Het gaat al weer een stuk beter als vijf dagen geleden. Het avontuur begint NU.

Hi, talking stones, kidney stones and we must not forget The Rolling Stones. Maybe the musicians on the corner need to change their name to something stone or rock related. It may get them more business. We watched Obama’s Inaguration this morning and I’m sure the temperature in DC was -25 a little bit cold. Unlike your current temperature which is just a little bit warmer. Keep heading south as I’m sure by now you have a gotten some sun, by the time you reach Panama you’ll be a different colour all together (maybe). Obama’s speech was great and a few tears have been shed. Be safe, have fun and watch out for flying stones and moveable pool tables. Michelle

Blij dat je overal goed doorheen lijkt te komen en dat Betsy zich goed houdt met die warmte. Ik zou me ongemakkelijk voelen hoor met al die mensen met geweren. Hoe vindt je het om door dit gebied heen te rijden?
Hier in dit kikkerland is het waterkoud, wees dus maar blij dat je in wat warmere gebieden bent.
Ik hoop dat we nog mooie verhalen van je krijgen.

We saw in the New York Times a week or so after you left, the beautiful frozen canals and skaters in the Netherlands…quite a contrast to your current conditions.
Our thoughts are with you!
Wat een belevenissen. Nieuwe mensen, nieuwe contacten, nieuwe gezichten, nieuwe vergezichten, nieuwe gedachten. Man het klinkt

Wij gaan eind volgende week ( 8 februari ) naar Bali ( Indonesia ) , welliswaar niet op de motor maar toch .
Misschien huur ik er daar wel 1 .
Vandaag is de nieuwe Bruce Springsteen , Working on a Dream uitgekomen en gelijk de eerste dag uitverkocht.
Wij haden ‘m in een mooie Luxe dubbel CD / DVD uitgave en LP voor weinig .
Working on a Dream , wat een parallel met jouw avontuur.
Tot ver maar weer.
